This month’s Smile forward spotlight, Lucas Schone, is as funny as he is talented! He always seems to brighten up the office with his positive energy and uplifting spirit.There is never a dull moment when Luke’s around. He is a great example of what it means to Smile forward, as he pushes himself beyond his limits in order to reach his goals.
One of the things we love about Luke is his passion for golf which started at a very young age. When he was 9 months old, the Schones moved to a home on a golf course in Hawaii. There, he would watch the golfers all day from the window. He has loved golf ever since! While most kids his age were sleeping with their favorite stuffed animal, Luke had to sleep with his favorite golf club, the chipper, in his crib with him each night! As his love for golf has grown over the years, so has his determination to become better each day. Luke has played UJGA, JAG, and Future Champions. At each appointment, we look forward to hearing about how he did in his past tournaments and the tournaments he has coming up. At 12 years old, Luke plays in about 35 tournaments each year and has always played up from his age group by 2-4 years.
Not only is Luke an amazing golfer, but an amazing student! He works extra hard to do well in school in hopes to accomplish his goals of playing college golf at a great school. We love Luke’s drive to be the very best he can be. This last year, Luke had the amazing opportunity to go to Ethiopia, Africa to serve with the non-profit organization Ordinary Hero. There, he was able to serve children in need and build amazing, long lasting relationships! He also enjoys socializing with his friends and his outgoing personality makes him easy to get along with and so much fun to be around! We have enjoyed having him as a patient of ours and consider it an honor to have him a part of the Burke Ortho family. The sky is the limit for Lucas Schone and we are so excited to see where his goals take him.
